FreePower Named 2024 Kitchen Product of the Year

KBB, one of the kitchen and bath industry's leading publications, has named FreePower as its 2024 Kitchen Product of the Year. What's more, our embedded wireless charging technology also claimed the top spot in the Smart Innovation category.

These prestigious accolades follow a series of major wins for FreePower throughout 2024, including the coveted "Best in Show" award at KBIS, 3 CES Innovation Awards, an IIDA Product Design Award, and we were category winners in The Architect’s Newspaper Product Design Awards.

For the first time in home-building history, FreePower is bringing embedded free-position wireless charging to countertop surfaces. At the heart of its success is its Charging Halo™, a futuristic innovation that combines edge-to-edge power with interactive lighting to transform countertops into functional, future-ready surfaces.

“When it comes to KBB, there's no greater honor than being named Kitchen Product of the Year, and we're feeling so much gratitude right now,” said Jake Slatnick, FreePower’s CEO. “Our dream is to bring power to every surface, and this award brings us yet another step closer to making that a reality.”

Having launched earlier this year, FreePower’s flagship three-device wireless charger is now rolling out across the U.S. in partnership with hundreds of countertop fabricators, kitchen and bath showrooms, and prominent homebuilders.

About FreePower

In 2017, FreePower (FKA Aira) took the first steps towards reinventing a technology that had always fallen short of expectations: wireless charging. Today, we have more than 230 patent assets for our advanced system, all of which were engineered in-house. After years of perfecting the technology, we launched the second-generation FreePower with Tesla in 2023, followed by our latest innovation: FreePower for Countertop. From bar tops at a restaurant to kitchen islands and home offices, this embedded technology seamlessly integrates into surfaces of all kinds. We are now partnering with leading architects, designers, builders, and fabricators to bring power to the spaces that connect us.
