What you'll need

1. Bluetooth

  1. Make sure the charger has power
  2. Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in the Settings App on your Phone.
  3. Stay Close to the Charger: The app will utilize your phone’s Bluetooth for initial setup, so you must be near the charger (within 10 feet/3m)  for it to work properly.  After initial setup, you can control the charger from anywhere within Wi-Fi range.
2. Wi-Fi
  1. Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your phone is connected to the expected Wi-Fi network.
  2. Check Wi-Fi Band.  Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is using the 2.4 GHz band, as operation on the 5 GHz band is not supported.
  3. Check Network Protocol.  In rare cases, your home Wi-Fi network may use the IPv6 Wi-Fi protocol.  If this is the case, you will need to enable IPv4 on your network.
Note: FreePower is only compatible with IPv4, the most common wireless protocol.
  4. Check Signal Strength at Charger: If the Wi-Fi signal is weak near the charger, it may have trouble connecting. Place your phone on the charging surface and use the phone’s signal strength meter to check how strong the Wi-Fi signal is where the charger is installed..
  5. Try Again: Force close the FreePower Mobile App, and optionally  cycle power to the charger.  See the “Connecting FreePower Chargers to the Mobile App” guide for the next steps.
