What you'll need

Description

The FreePower Quality Check will ensure that the charger is updated with the latest firmware and that the countertop is cut to spec. This check is necessary for the charger to operate as intended.

1. Get the FreePower app
  1. If you haven't downloaded the app yet, you can find the FreePower app available for download on both the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Simply search for "FreePower" to get started.
  2. Launch the app
  3. Login to your existing account or create a new account
  4. Accept all permissions
2. Download the latest firmware

Make sure your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network with internet or your phone has a valid LTE data connection

  1. With the app open on the main Discovery Screen, click the gear icon in the top right corner
  2. Click "Download Latest Firmware"

3. Connect charger to Wi-Fi
  1. If you have access to the customers Wi-Fi, connect your phone to their Wi-Fi network.
    • If you do NOT have access, plug in the FreePower Access Point, see our help center article here.
  2. Open the app, login or create an account and accept all permissions
  3. Start configuring the charger by clicking "+NEW"
    • Accept Bluetooth and Location permissions
  4. Once the app has discovered your charger(s), click "Continue"
  5. If you are connected to the customers Wi-Fi network, enter their Wi-Fi password
  6. The halo will start flashing, name the charger(s): FreePower, FreePower1, etc
4. Run countertop thickness test
  1. In the app, click on the charger to open the chargers control panel
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner
  3. Click on "Countertop Thickness Test"
    • Follow the instructions within the app, the steps below are added for your convenience
  4. You should have a metal plate, click "Yes, Continue"
  5. Start calibration by clicking "Start Test"
  6. Clear ALL ITEMS from the surface of the charger and click "Next"
  7. When the Charging Halo™ stops blinking, cover the Charging Halo™ with the metal plate, then click "Next"
  8. Countertop thickness test is complete
    • If the test fails, notify FreePower immediately by clicking "Notify FreePower" in the app
5. Reset charger

If you configured the charger to the customers Wi-Fi, you're done! If you configured the charger to the FreePower Access Point, perform the following steps to reset the charger.

  1. In the app, click on the charger to open the chargers control panel
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "Reset Charger"
